The Client

SoWork is an AI-powered digital HQ built for remote teams, designed to make distributed work feel cohesive and human, regardless of geography. Despite being a genuine category innovator, SoWork was functionally invisible to the AI engines that increasingly shape how buyers discover software. Technical crawl failures prevented search systems from understanding the site, and the company was appearing in fewer than 1 in 5 relevant AI answers. Without even a Bing Webmaster account, there was no data to act on.

The Ask

Could a technically broken SaaS product compete in AI search against a well-established rival and actually win the direct comparison? SoWork asked iGrow to do three things: fix the technical foundation blocking AI crawlers, dominate high-intent AI queries for virtual office use cases, and become the most-cited alternative to Gather across all major AI systems.

Steps Taken in Rankscale

1. Audit & Baseline
   Rankscale established SoWork’s AI Visibility baseline at 16.6%, confirming the scale of the gap and identifying which AI engines and query categories were most underperforming. The audit made clear that no meaningful visibility strategy could proceed without addressing the technical crawl failures first.

2. Research & Configuration
   Commercial money prompts were configured across 7 AI engines, monitoring daily performance to map which queries drove the highest exposure. These insights directly steered content strategy toward high-value comparison and use-case pages targeting users ready to switch platforms.

3. Execution & Tracking
   Technical fixes were deployed to resolve the crawl failures preventing AI systems from understanding SoWork’s site. Rankscale’s dashboards tracked the resulting citation surge in real time, verifying 10,327 citations through the platform and cross-referencing against Bing’s own data.

Results

• AI Visibility hit 100% across all 7 major engines within 90 days, stabilizing at a 63.1% market lead. SoWork went from appearing in fewer than 1 in 5 relevant AI answers to appearing in every one, a complete reversal of its search presence in a single quarter.
• SoWork’s Share of Citations climbed to 27.1%, more than double its main competitor Gather’s share. The technical fixes triggered a citation surge that Bing independently verified at 10,200 references, with Rankscale tracking 10,327 in parallel, giving the team ground-truth confidence in every milestone.
• That AI visibility converted directly into 990 high-intent clicks from Bing AI search and 348 completed onboardings across all channels. The full-funnel approach (combining AI search, restructured Google Ads, and organic) created compounding momentum that drove a meaningful increase in MRR.
